The amazing FANTASTIC FOUR- a must WATCH MOVIE

picture taken from: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1502712/

This year if it wasn’t for school I will be all seated on my parent’s couch enjoying all the epic movies lined up.
Remember The Fantastic Four when it first aired in 2005. I was in grade 6 at that time. Damn I became a fan of  Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis. I was so thrilled to see that just one incident can turn a normal human being into a super hero. As a kid when I watched this movie I really wanted to be a super hero and save the day...I mean what kid wouldn’t.
In this all new Fantastic Four we see the characters of Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Michael B. Jordan playing the characters Mr Fantastic, The Invisible Woman, The Thing and The Human Touch respectively. So sad was I to have new characters from the previous one but hey as long as they put on a good show who wouldn’t love them.
The Fantastic Four were 4 scientists who achieved superhuman abilities through a teleportation experiment which goes haywire. They must now use their superhuman abilities to save the world from an uprising tyrant.

Coming to a sad of note of mine, I was really hurt when I learned that Kiefer Sutherland also known as Jack Bauer in the series 24 was supposed to act in this movie as “The Thing.” I was devastated that I won’t be seeing him in this movie.
Anyway, after watching the trailer, I really didn’t feel devastated anymore. I was actually thrilled and excited that I can’t wait for the 7th of August to see the whole movie.

DISKI DIVAS- NEW SHOW TO OUR SCREENS

The stars of Diski Divas are Felicia Modise, Tekelo Rantie, Nonhle Ndala, Wendy Parker and Kat Mohoadube. Picture: Supplied

On Sunday, 12 April at 18:00, Mzansi Magic, channel 161 on DStv, will turn on the spotlight on five soccer WAGS, when the brand new reality show Diski Divas debuts.

Diski Divas will blow all contenders out of the water when viewers get a glimpse of how the soccer royalty babes live the life that ordinary folks only dream of.

Viewers will get an up-close view into the glitz and the glamour of big nights out and all the trimmings that come with being on the arm of some of the beautiful game’s biggest stars. They will also witness what it takes to live in this high stakes world – the drama, the back-stabbing, the fear of losing it all in one quick move. In short, Diski Divas will show what it takes for soccer’s royalty babes to get their hustle on.

This show will follow each of their journeys: where they come from; what it took to get where they are; their hopes and aspirations; the different aspects of their lives, from parenting to careers; the sacrifices they have had to make; and the ups-and-downs of being in a scene that can be harsh and unforgiving. Pivotal to all of these will be the Diski Diva’s relationships with their soccer playing men – both past and present.

The five Diski Divas who will be opening their hearts and homes are Felicia Modise, the former wife of Teko Modise; Gaositwe 'Gigi' Pule, the wife of Bournemouth and Bafana Bafana player, Tekelo Rantie; Nonhle Ndala, Andile Jali’s girlfriend; Wendy Parker, the wife of Bernard Parker and Kat Mohoadube, the ex girlfriend of former Kaizer Chiefs captain, Jimmy Tau.

Felicia Modise (29) is a small town girl, born in De Beer and later moved to Evaton to live with her grandmother. An avid netball player, Modise studied drama and appeared on Soul City before meeting Rantie at the age of 22.

Parys-born Pule met Rantie through social media – striking up a conversation with him because they are both from the same town. Pule gave birth to their son in the same year she graduated with a degree in Building Sciences – and she is committed to giving her family a 'normal' life, away from the luxury that most people perceive soccer stars to be immersed in.

Katlego ‘Kat’ Mohoaduba (23) was the third runner up in the first season of Big Brother Mzansi and recently dated Kaizer Chiefs player Jimmy Tau. They met during her lunch break when Mohoaduba worked at a bank. She has lately been concentrating on the salon she started with her mother as well as her acting career.

Nonhle Ndala was raised in Ratanda. She is fluent in Swedish (after living there for a year on an exchange programme). Like her boyfriend Andile Jali, who she met in 2013, Ndala is a dedicated sportsperson. She is fitness trainer for the current season of Bootcamp Mzansi Celebrity Edition. She is passionate about fitness and believes in transforming peoples lives by adding positive value.

Durban-born Wendy Parker (31) met Bernard Parker eight years ago when she was a manager at a sports store in Durban. The two have been married since 2011 after Parker proposed during a trip to Holland. She is a mother to two boys. She is in her second year of BA Law and Criminology and believes wholeheartedly in social responsibility.

2015 ROYALTY SOAPIE AWARDS

Source: (2nd-annual-royalty-soapie-awards)
Two years ago, actress Winnie Modise envisioned a ceremony to celebrate the soapie industry. That dream is set to materialise with the first annual Royalty Soapie Awards (RSAs) in November. Best known for her long-standing role as Khetiwe Buthelezi in SABC1’s Generations, Modise shares her journey as the founder and says the RSAs aren’t meant to rival or undermine the South African Film and Television Awards, writes Debashine Thangevelo.

Film and TV sectors around the world have a propensity to look to Hollywood for inspiration. And the plethora of awards ceremonies, from the Oscars to the Golden Globes to the Emmys, creates such hype every year that it’s hard not to be mesmerised by the slick running of it.

South Africa’s benchmark when it comes to awards ceremonies is the National Film and Video Foundation’s South African Film and Television Awards (Saftas). But, without taking anything away from past winners, it has courted controversy since its inception.

Now critics and the industry are excited to hear about the upcoming Royalty Soapie Awards, founded by Generations actress Winnie Modise.

In the just ended Royalty Soapie Awards, Isibaya and Scandal! were leading the charge with 16 nominations each for the second Royalty Soapie Awards.

SABC2’s 7de Laan followed with 14 nominations. The awards took place on March 28 in Durban.

Notable changes this year include Mzansi Magic coming aboard as a sponsor and a bigger public voting participation as viewers will get to have a say in the winner of several categories.

Generations on SABC1 – which used to be South Africa’s biggest and most watched soap in terms of ratings before its massive fall from grace as well in the ratings and now called Generations: The Legacy – was largely shut out in the nominations.

E.tv has this year allowed its Rhythm City and Scandal! soaps to take part after pulling out last year.

SABC2’s Tshivenda soap Muvhango only scored one nomination, with kykNET’s Afrikaans soap Binnelanders completely absent and shut out from this year’s Royalty Soapie Awards although Villa Rosa is included.

Viewers will get to vote for the winner in several categories, which include: outstanding lead actor, outstanding lead actress, outstanding male villain, outstanding female villain, outstanding supporting actor, outstanding supporting actress, outstanding newcomer and most popular soapie.

Notably, no Generations or Binnelanders stars are included as nominees in any of these categories.
